There may be a showdown at the senate as ministerial nominees are officially announced on Tuesday.
Already the atmosphere at the national assembly is charged, as TheCable gathered that some senators might protest the inclusion of Chibuike Amaechi, former Rivers state governor, on the list.
The showdown could also be ignited by a divergence over criteria for the confirmation of the nominees, and the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari only submitted 21 names instead of 36 as required by the constitution.
As of 10am, the senate was yet to resume, but senators were arriving at the chamber in trickles.

Buhari submitted the ministerial list to the senate on the last day of last month through through Abba Kyari, his chief of staff.
Senate President Bukola Saraki vowed not to reveal the names on the list until Tuesday, but TheCable reported many of the names on the list.
It is expected that he will read out the names on the list on the floor of the senate at plenary.
