Senate postpones screening of service chiefs

‎The senate has postponed the screening of the service chiefs earlier scheduled for Thursday to next Tuesday.

Bukola Saraki, senate president, had announced on Wednesday that the screening exercise would take place at the senate chambers on Thursday.

But a few hours, later‎ the senate leadership announced a new date.

‎The reason for the postponement, TheCable understands, is to afford the service chiefs and the senate president the chance to attend the pulling-out parade being organised by the military for Alex Badeh, former chief of defence staff.

The event, which is to officially send off the former defence chief, is scheduled to take place at 9am at Mogadishu Cantonment, Asokoro, Abuja.

They were appointed on July 13‎ by President Muhammadu Buhari.

  1. Postpone just like that… We all know the drill, the senators have not received alert on their phones. Delay or no delay, those service chiefs will continue to do their jobs diligently. Bunch of corrupt senators. Imagine serving senators accompanying Saraki’s wife to EFFC when she was only invited for questioning, what if she was detained, una go sleep with her for cell. Nigeria is just a joke?

    1. Comments like this makes my heart bleed. Nigerians should be constructive, cerebral and civil with their comments and stop casting aspersion on personalities.
