The senate and house of representatives have adjourned their plenaries to November 19.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Tajudeen Abbas, speaker of the house, announced the adjournment on the floors of both chambers on Thursday.

The two-week adjournment will allow committees of both chambers of the national assembly to carry out oversight duties of ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) and ongoing projects across the country.

The exercise would enable the relevant committees of the national assembly to determine the level of performance of the 2024 budget, the presiding officers of both chambers said.

The MTEF and FSP are parameters on which any budget is predicated on.

President Bola Tinubu is expected to present the 2025 budget proposal to a joint session of the national assembly soon.
