The senate has summoned Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the federation (AGF), over a suit he filed against Senate President Bukola Saraki and Ike Ekweremadu, his deputy, for alleged forgery.
The senate, on Tuesday, resolved to mandate its committee on judiciary to summon the AGF “to explain and to justify with evidence the basis for his act and to explain why it does not constitute incompetence, gross misconduct, contempt of court and abuse of office”.”
The resolution of the senate followed a point of order raised by Dino Melaye, a senator from Kogi west, on the charges of criminal conspiracy and forgery of the senate standing rules, 2015, brought against the principal officers of the 8th assembly by the office of the AGF.
The senate also declared that its standing rules were authentic and not forged.

Raising the point of order, Melaye argued that if the senate rule book was forged it implied that the passed 2015 budget, and all ministers confirmed by the upper legislative chamber were fake.
“The senate notes that its principal officers are being accused of a fraud that does not exist,” he said.
“This emerging trend poses a threat to security and Nigeria’s unity. The executive has decided to be chasing rats when the economy is gradually falling into a recession. The senate is aware of the dubious acts of the attorney-general of the federation and his office.

“The same rule that is said to be a fraud has been used to screen a nuisance like the AGF. This senate without fear or favour will continue to promote the peace and unity of this great nation.”

Melaye calling a minister of the federation a nuisance instead of giving us proof they did not forge it
Who is fooling who in this country?
