Sergio Aguero involved in car crash

Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been involved in a serious car accident in Amsterdam, Holland.

The taxi in which the 29-year old was travelling reportedly crashed into a lamp post, according to Skysports UK.

Aguero is understood to be suffering from broken ribs.

The City striker was said to be heading to the airport for a concert by Colombian singer Maluma, when the taxi he was in veered off the road.

Independiente, his former club, confirmed the accident and wished him speedy recovery.

“Strength and prompt recovery. Everyone at Independiente is with you in this difficult moment,” Independiente tweeted.

Manchester City confirmed the incident with  a statement on the club’s official website Friday morning.

“Sergio Aguero will be assessed by Club doctors today after being involved in a road accident on Thursday,” a statement on Manchester City official website read.

“The City forward was in Holland on his day off and has sustained injuries.

“He will return to Manchester this morning and his status will be checked ahead of tomorrow’s Premier League clash at Chelsea.”

Aguero faces up to two months on the sidelines and will definitely miss the clash against Chelsea at the Stamford bridge on Saturday.

The Argentine has been in superb form for City this season Andy is on goal away Fromm equaling the club’s all-time leading scoring record of 178, held by Eric Brook.
