Seun Okinbaloye, Hakeem Shagaya to speak at MYF on December 8

Seun Okinbaloye, host of Channels Television’s Politics Today, and Hakeem Shagaya, chief executive officer (CEO) of Karmod Nigeria, are among the speakers expected to speak in Abuja on December 8 at the annual Maktoub Youth Forum (MYF).

Mariam Mohammed, the founder of Maktoub Media, said in a statement that other speakers expected at the forum include Adaeze Oreh, the CEO of Kabiya Care Foundation, Fatima Mamman-Daura, and Fatima Akinyera.

Mohammed said the 2024 edition of the annual event theme is ‘Ignite, inspire, impact’ and is expected to attract over 200 youths from across Nigeria, representing diverse backgrounds, disciplines, and orientations.

The yearly MYF is part of her birthday celebration and focuses on helping Nigerian youths develop the right outlook, character, and values.

Mohammed said this year’s MYF goes beyond being a conference as it will offer an immersive experience with insightful discussions and real-world strategies from industry leaders.

“There will be networking opportunities with accomplished mentors and like-minded peers. There will be actionable takeaways for tackling life challenges and career setbacks,” she said.

“Young people will listen and learn from renowned speakers while giving them a chance to address shared challenges.”

She added that the event will encourage youths to discover, explore, and maximise their natural potential to create a better future despite hurdles.

“It is a reaffirmation that youths can be the change they want to see and underscores the power of mentoring and experienced guidance by respected professionals and key stakeholders across different sectors of national life,” Mohammed said.

She said the event inspires reflection on personal and collective goals, especially for the young ones.
