The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) says seven persons have lost their lives in an auto crash that occurred at Gunu village in Munya LGA of Niger state.
According to NAN, Kumar Tsukwam, FRSC sector commander in Niger, said the accident took place on Wednesday after a Toyota Camry and a Sharon commercial bus collided.
Tsukwam said five passengers in the vehicle also sustained injuries during the accident.
He said the injured victims were taken to the General Hospital in Minna, the state capital, while the remains of those who lost their lives have been deposited in the mortuary of the same facility.

“Twelve persons were involved in the accident; seven of them died, while five others sustained injuries,” he said.
“We recovered the sum of N36,200, one bag of yam, a Nikon Camera, two chargers and a cord, wedding invitation cards, a flash drive, one phone battery, four keys, pictures and a small bag.
“The injured victims were rescued and taken to the nearest hospital for treatment while the dead were deposited at General hospital mortuary, Minna.

“The vehicles were handed over to the police at Munya divisional police office.”
He said one of the drivers lost control while driving, adding that the accident occurred as a result of over-speeding.
The sector commander urged motorists to be cautious of speed limit while driving to avoid crashes.
