As part of an initiative to aid a stronger global fight against COVID-19 and a call for Nigerians as a collective to band together during these trying times, Seven-Up Bottling Company has made a substantial donation to support the Lagos State Government in its response efforts to the pandemic.
One million bottles of their Aquafina drinking water brand and other beverages in their portfolio to the Lagos State Emergency Food Relief, as well as 1 million bottles to other states. The support is aimed at the vulnerable communities within the state, multiple health care centres, as well as the valiant healthcare workers who cater to patients in isolation.
According to the Managing Director of SBC, Mr. Ziad Maalouf, this is the company’s way of supporting vulnerable communities during this tough time. He further expressed his gratitude and admiration for those at the forefront in the fight against Covid-19, stating that SBC believes that we are stronger together when we take collective action to help each other stay safe.
To additionally make its efforts wholesome, Seven-Up Bottling Company collaborated with celebrated Nollywood Director NiyiAkinmolayan, to create videos that will be broadcasted pan-Nigeria to educate and sensitize Nigerians about COVID-19.
Lagos state has recorded the most cases in Nigeria so far, of the 224 confirmed cases with 5 deaths and 27 recovered patients, recorded in Nigeria as a whole. The company is set to distribute half of its donations in Lagos and the other half across Nigeria.
Seven-Up Bottling Company has made these efforts with the hope that this experience brings the Nation together and that even as a collective, Nigerians are stronger because of it.
