There was an accident resulting in a fire outbreak at Otedola Bridge inwards Berger area on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway in the early hours of Saturday.
Emergency responders, including Lagos Fire Service, the state Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and the state Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) have been deployed in the scene of the accident to douse the fire and ease vehicular movement.
LASTMA had initially said the incident involved five vehicles–two tankers, two trailers, and a car.
However, the state fire service, in an update of the situation, said seven vehicles were involved.

It said the inferno had been put out and “mop-up is being concluded now”.

In its traffic update, LASTMA said the affected vehicles have been “evacuated to one side of the road while 2 lanes available for movement presently, but traffic beyond Ogudu at the moment”.
