Troops of the Nigerian Army have reportedly rescued seven kidnap victims during a raid on the hideouts of insurgents in Borno communities.

Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, said the raid was conducted by troops of 25 Brigade in Damboa and Konduga LGAs.

The operation was carried out after the troops reportedly received a tip off on July 18.

The publication said the victims, who were Fulani herdsmen, were found in chains in Kanama village.
