Share information to enhance national security, Hyacinth tells police, military

Hyacinth Alia, governor of Benue, has called on the police and military to share information with each other to enhance national security.

He spoke on Sunday after participants of Course 14, 2023 of the advanced Defence Intelligence college, Abuja, paid him a courtesy visit.

Hyacinth urged the participants to share valuable insights and learn from the experiences of other security agencies.

The Benue governor added that through collaborative efforts, security agencies will bond and make progress towards enhancing national security.

“Let me seize this opportunity to encourage you to engage in robust and fruitful discussions. Share valuable insights and learn from the experiences of the other security agencies on ground,” he said.

“It is through these collaborative efforts that you will bond to make tangible progress towards enhancing our national security.”

On his part, Goke Osuntokum, director of studies, Defence Intelligence College, said the participant’s visit to Benue is part of the requirements they have to fulfill before they graduate.

“The crop of the officials that you have here today are here to be guided on the tour to fulfil a partial requirement in the completion of their studies in the college so that they can graduate in August 2023,” Osuntokum said.

“They are therefore tasked to interrogate a theme preventing inter communal conflict through actionable intelligence to enhance national security.

“The choice of Benue state is the most appropriate. Hence, the survey is intended to discuss salient issues with stakeholders in the state who could assist them in making clarifications.”
