Shehu Sani, senator representing Kaduna central, says Nasir el-Rufai, the state governor, will turn against President Muhammadu Buhari in the future.
Sani said this when he spoke on The Osasu Show with Osasu Igbinedion.
El-rufai is a staunch supporter of Buhari.
However, Sani described el-Rufai as a “serial betrayer” who turns against any government when he is no longer in its favour.

The governor and Sani have been at loggerheads since 2015.
Commenting on the rivalry between them, Sani said he doubts if he would be able to put aside their political differences and work with the governor.
“We have a governor, who today is calling the PDP people thieves while he served as a full member of PDP for over 14 years. PDP spent 16 years in power and he spent 14 out of that 16 years in power… PDP was his alma mater,” Sani said.

“Secondly, we differ ideologically in the very sense that since he came into power, he unleashed policies and programmes that are further driving people out of the party and creating problems for us.
“He sacked thousands of people, demolished the homes of people, speaks with haughtiness and arrogance as a person who supposed to not behave like that.
“And he is capitalising on his relationship with President Muhammadu Buhari and I know very well. He betrayed Obasanjo. After he was out of Obasanjo’s government, he started insulting Obasanjo.
“Atiku was his master, he started fighting him. Jonathan and Umaru Yar’Adua, he started fighting them when he was out of their favour.

“Keep this interview, for the next 5, 10, 20 years, Nasir el-Rufai will insult Buhari, he will abuse Buhari, he will attack Buhari. It is a question of time.”
