Shehu Sani: Saudi bombings show nowhere is safe, we must fight terror

Shehu Sani, vice-chairman of the senate committee on foreign affairs, says the suicide attacks across three cities in Saudi Arabia, have shown that nowhere in the world is safe.

Condemning the acts, the lawmaker called on world leaders to take the battle to the doorstep of extremists.

Sani said people should no longer respond only after such attacks happen, but unite to crush groups perpetrating the dastardly acts.

He added that the incidents have revealed that extremist groups hiding under the cover of Islam have a different agenda.

“The reported multiple Bombings in the Holy City of Medina and other places in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia stands condemned,” Sani said in a statement.

“Those who perpetrated this evil are satanic, ungodly and barbaric. Terrorism represent a common danger to humanity and the World. The bombing of Saudi should spark the world to a new coordinated and concerted action to combat the menace of terror.

“It’s time for the people of the world to abandon petty social ,economic, political, religious or doctrinal differences to collectively stand up against this common evil.

“The attacks on Holy places in Saudi Arabia are the most destructive attacks on the soul and conscience of humanity. Terrorism is sheer evil whose proponents claim to be guided by religion but actually guided by the opposite of it. It’s time for humanity to stop waiting for the terrorists, it’s time for the terrorists to start waiting for us.

“Terrorists have successfully made everywhere unsafe for us, we must make everywhere inhabitable and inhospitable for them. The world must not give up or surrender to terror no matter the ferocity and destructive result of their action.”
