Shettima departs for Côte d’Ivoire to attend energy summit

Vice-President Kashim Shettima has departed Abuja for Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, to attend the international exhibition of extractive and energy resources (SIREXE).

The conference titled ‘Policies and Strategy for the Sustainable Development of the Extractive and Energy Industries’ is billed to hold from November 27 to December 2, at the Abidjan Exhibition Centre.

A statement on Wednesday by Stanley Nkwocha, senior special assistant to the president on media and communications, said the event will bring together stakeholders in the mining, petroleum, and energy sectors from around the world.

Shettima was received in Abidjan by Kacou Houadja Léon Adom, the Minister of foreign affairs, African integration and diaspora of the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire, and Mamadou Sangafowa-Coulibaly, minister of mines, oil and energy.

Nkwocha said the event offers an avenue for collaboration, exchange, and investment for industry leaders and sustainable growth for African economies.

He noted that the Shettima will utilise the opportunity to share Nigeria’s experience in the hydrocarbon exploration and production sectors.

Nkwocha added that Shettina is expected to return to Abuja later today.
