Vice-President Kashim Shettima has urged the National Council on Privatisation (NCP) to focus on maximising the value of Nigeria’s core assets for the benefit of its citizens.
In a statement on X on Tuesday, Shettima spoke during the 4th meeting of the NCP held in his office at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Shettima said the nation’s core assets are vital to the economic agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
“He urged members to provide constructive leadership for Nigerians, cautioning that posterity would judge them kindly if they made efforts to be fair to the citizens,” the statement reads.

Shettima said the council’s work has never been more important, given the nation’s current economic challenges.
“The work of this Council has never been more important, especially given our current economic climate,” he said.
“Maximizing value from core national assets is a key tenet of the economic agenda of President @officialABAT.”

The vice-president added that the council must play its role in unlocking the national prosperity that Tinubu strives for daily.
