Vice President Kashim Shettima says the federal government is committed to prioritising interventions to address desertification, coastal erosion, and flooding in the country.
Receiving a presentation titled “Building climate resilience for enhanced national security: strategic options for Nigeria by 2035”, from the National Defence College (NDC) course 31 participants, Shettima said the government is determined to shield the country’s habitat and bolster its security.
In a statement by Olusola Abiola, the director of information in the office of the vice president, on Thursday, Shettima added that the Tinubu administration is collaborating more with individuals and institutions that share the government’s vision for a sustainable future.
He commended the commitment of members of Nigeria’s armed forces towards a sustainable climate as a means to achieve resilient national security.
