Shops burnt in ethnic clash in Lagos community

A clash between the youth of the Yoruba and the Hausa in Fagba, Iju-Ishaga area of Lagos has left many shops in ruins.

A disagreement between the youth groups was said to have started brewing from Tuesday over the #EndSARS protest in the area.

The disagreement heightened on Thursday with the youth on both sides attacking each other with weapons, while some shops were later set on fire.

The clash caused chaos in the area with people scampering for safety, while some residents locked themselves inside.

After the Lekki shooting incident on Tuesday, the violent attacks that had rocked the state escalated, leading to loss of lives and property.

Government buildings, media houses and private residences were vandalised in the attacks by hoodlums in the state on Wednesday.

The attacks continued on Thursday with warehouses looted, police stations set on fire and roads blocked by hoodlums.
