Simbi Wabote, Oti Ikomi to speak on African oil market at Realnews 9th anniversary

The African oil and gas market will take centre stage at the lecture organised by Realnews, a Nigerian publication, to mark its ninth anniversary.

The lecture is billed to hold Thursday at the Sheraton Hotel, Ikeja, by 10 am.

‘Unfolding integration of the African market: the oil and gas perspective’ is the theme of the lecture which will be led by Simbi Kesiye Wabote, executive secretary of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

Other speakers expected at the event include Oti Ikomi, founder and chief executive officer of the Proton Energy Ltd; Eyono-Fatayi Williams, general manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development; Samata Gifty Bukari, consul general, Ghanaian consulate; and Adama Gaye, chief executive officer of the NewForce Africa among others.

In a statement shared with TheCable, Maureen Chigbo, publisher of Realnews, said there will be an investiture of all the speakers into the Realnews Hall of Fame immediately after the lecture.

Chigbo explained that the Realnews Hall of Fame was established to honour those who played key roles during the anniversary lectures.

The event’s past speakers and honorees include Boss Mustapha, secretary to the government of the federation and chairman of Presidential TaskForce of COVID-19; John Dramani Mahama, former President of Ghana; Mahmood Yakubu, chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC); Oby Ezekwesili, former minister of education, among others.
