Chimezie Amadi, the state commissioner of digital economy and e-government, disclosed this during a working visit to NSCDC’s headquarters in Imo, on Wednesday.

Amadi said the state, through the ministry, was “ready to train at least 10 NSCDC officers in the area of cybersecurity”.

He said the exercise was in line with the sixth pillar of the Imo digital economy agenda (IDEA) 2022-2026, focusing on partnership and collaboration.

According to the commissioner, cybersecurity is an advanced level course in the SkillUpImo training project which the ministry does in partnership with Cisco Academy.

Amadi added that aside from cybersecurity, the NSCDC officials will also be trained in forensic auditing to help them gain knowledge on ways to limit crimes in the state and environs.

He said criminality has left the terrestrial lane and has moved to cyberspace, hence equipping the officials with 4.0 industry revolution skill set in cybersecurity, will make for a saner and more sanitised cyberspace.
