HOSTAFRICA, a leading web hosting provider in South Africa, has acquired GO54, the Nigerian web hosting company formerly known as WhoGoHost.
As part of the acquisition, HOSTAFRICA will take over GO54’s operations, including its customer base of more than 100,000 users.
In a statement on Monday, Michael Osterloh, the chief executive officer (CEO) of HOSTAFRICA, said the acquisition is a strategic step towards expanding their leadership across the continent.
“This strategic acquisition strengthens our position as the leading provider of web hosting and related services in Africa,” Osterloh said.

“We are excited to leverage GO54’s strong presence in Nigeria and its innovative solutions to enhance our offerings and better serve our growing customer base.”
Following the sale, Opeyemi Awoyemi, GO54’s founder, announced his resignation from the company’s board via X.
“Happy to announce that @GO54_hq (fka Whogohost) has been acquired by HOSTAFRICA. I have also resigned from the board following the sale,” Awoyemi wrote.

Founded in 2007, GO54 has grown into a household domain and hosting provider in West Africa, offering services such as cloud hosting, reseller hosting, website protection, website design, website backup, and domain reseller application programming interface (API).
