Governors of the south-east will meet on Sunday in Imo state to discuss the security challenges confronting the region.
Amaka Okafor, aide to Hope Uzodimma, governor of Imo state, confirmed the meeting to TheCable.
She said the governors have started arriving at Owerri, the state capital, adding that the meeting is expected to discuss issues of insecurity and how security can be improved in the region.
The region has witnessed a spike in attacks on public infrastructure.

Different police stations across the south-east have also come under attack by gunmen in recent weeks.
At least four naval officers were said to have been killed in Anambra state in March.
Last Monday, gunmen attacked a correctional centre and the police command headquarters in Imo.

Over 1,500 prisoners were reportedly freed in the attacks.
The police accused members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) of being behind the attacks.
