Manchester United fell to their first defeat in 12 games at home to Southampton on Sunday in the Barclays Premier League.
Dusan Tadic came off the bench to score the only goal of the game as Louis van Gaal’s toothless Red Devils fell to only their second home defeat of the season.
United had not witnessed a defeat in the league at Old Trafford since Swansea City’s 2-1 victory on the opening day of the campaign but they failed to play to their best and they were duly punished by the Saints.
Substitute Tadic provided the goal keeping his cool after Graziano Pelle’s strike had rebounded off the post evading United’s defence in the process.
