Sowore: I won’t be part of any negotiation on #EndSARS

Omoyele Sowore, convener of the RevolutionNow movement, says he will not partake in any negotiation with the government regarding the #EndSARS protests across the country.

The former presidential candidate in a post on Twitter, said many people see the negotiations as an opportunity to enrich themselves.

He added that he only will involve himself in negotiations that will see to the surrender of “oppressors”.

“I will not be part of any negotiation regarding #EndSARS. Many have entered into these negotiations and come out of the other side becoming billionaires. To them it is a game,” he tweeted.

“The only negotiation I will ever engage in is that of the surrender of our oppressors.”

Across the country, there have been protests calling for the scrapping of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) of the Nigeria police force.

Mohammed Adamu, the inspector-general of police (IGP), had subsequently issued a directive disbanding the SARS unit.

But the protests have continued and activists have issued a five-point demand, which includes justice for victims of police brutality and psychological evaluation of all disbanded SARS operatives.
