Sowore: PDP, APC are interested in AAC’s downfall

Omoyele Sowore, chairman of the African Action Congress (AAC), says the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are interested in the downfall of his party.

He said this at the national executive committee (NEC) meeting of the party in Abuja on Saturday.

Sowore charged members of his party to embark on mobilsation at the grassroots level.

“We need to take this movement back to the grassroots. We are known to be a party of justice, progress and growth,” he said.

“What will keep us relevant is our relevance to the people at every level. Our style of campaign is challenging to the status quo. We are the best to take this country to where it ought to be. PDP and APC are interested in the downfall of our party. We’re their common enemy.”

Sowore taunted President Muhammadu Buhari over his ministerial nominees, saying Nigerians are regretting after realising that the “Next Level has become next suffering”.

The NEC passed a vote of confidence on Sowore, saying the faction of the party which suspended him is working for “external forces”.

“NEC hereby passes a vote of confidence on Omoyele Sowore and Malcolm Fabiyi as they continue to lead the party,” said Joshua Adeoye, deputy national secretary of the party, who read the resolutions at the meeting.

“All allegations against Omoyele Sowore were/are manufactured. There is no case of financial impropriety against Mr. Omoyele Sowore. His is the only campaign that declared money as it was raised, carried people along as it was spent, and within 6 weeks of the end of the campaign.
