Soyinka to speak at Naija Times’ 3rd anniversary lecture

Wole Soyinka, Nobel laureate, will deliver the goodwill message at the Naija Times’ third anniversary lecture and book presentation on October 19.

A statement by the organisers said the event will be held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua centre in Abuja.

Reuben Abati, a journalist with AriseTV and a former presidential spokesperson, will be a guest speaker at the event.

The anniversary lecture’s theme is “Journalism in the service of society”.

The event will also feature the presentation of the newspaper’s first publication, “For a Better Society: A compilation of editorials published in Naija Times from September 2020 to July 2023”.

Azu Ishiekwene, editor-in-chief of Leadership Newspapers, will review the book.

According to Ehi Braimah, publisher and editor-in-chief of Naija Times, “the book will be a valuable resource for media practitioners, communications specialists, political leaders, strategists and consultants, CEOs, public policy analysts, civil servants, parliamentarians, legal
practitioners, human rights activists, bankers and financial analysts, researchers, scholars, students, sports administrators, entrepreneurs and captains of industry, diplomats, economists as well as public affairs commentators”.

John Momoh, chief executive officer (CEO) of Channels Media Group, will be the chairman, while Olusegun Osoba, former governor of Ogun state, will be the father of the day.

Naija Times was founded on September 15, 2020 and is committed to building an egalitarian society based on the principles of justice and fundamental human rights.
