Special Adviser on Christian Religious Affairs to the Taraba State Government, Dr. Eunice Iliya has expressed concerns over the ongoing misunderstanding between Acting Governor of the state, Garba Umar and the state chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).
Speaking to the media in Jalingo as reported by NAN, Iliya promised to resolve the misunderstanding between them.
Expressing sadness at the development, she appealed to both parties to embrace dialogue, saying dialogue would restore peace to the state.
“I am a member of CAN and I have great respect for the association and the acting governor,” Iliya said.

“As an adviser to the governor on Christian Religious Affairs, I know it is my duty to bring both parties together, and I will do that.”
Bishop Timothy Yahaya, the CAN chairman in the state, had accused the acting governor of sponsoring the ongoing crisis in Wukari and other parts of the state.
However, Special Adviser on Media to the Acting Governor, Mr Aron Atimas, dismissed the accusation, saying Umar is working hard to put an end to the crisis.
