The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) says the spraying of naira notes at social events reduces the dignity of the currency.

In a post on its official X page on Monday, the anti-graft agency urged Nigerians to respect the currency.

“Respect the Naira! Ridiculing our currency weakens our collective pride,” the EFCC wrote under its Eagle Series.

“The dignity of naira go decline as you dey spray babe wey fine because she sabi dance and whine, guys go step on naira wey dey shine, e go come ugly like juju for shrine,” the anti-graft agency added.
