Stanley Okeke, a former governorship candidate, has won the Young Progressives Party (YPP) house of representatives ticket.
Okeke will fly the party’s flag in the Idemili north/Idemili south federal constituency of Anambra state in the 2023 elections.
He defeated three other hopefuls in the race to clinch the party’s ticket.
Okeke’s victory comes days after he resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He had attributed his resignation from the APC to the crisis in the Anambra chapter of the party.
Speaking after the election, Okeke said the YPP will defeat other political parties in the 2023 general election.
”I am from Nkpor, my maternal home is Obosi, I was born in Obosi, have networks in all the wards and communities in idemili north and south. APGA, PDP, APC which are the main political parties here are no threat,” he said.

“I know the candidates and will defeat them in their various wards. Ifeanyi Ubah did it with this party in 2019 in Anambra south which is even a more difficult zone. It won’t be easy here too but be assured we will come victorious he concluded.”
