Sterling’s comeback scuttles Arsenal’s hope

It was a tough moment for Arsenal at the Etihad on Sunday evening, as Manchester City came from behind to defeat the Gunners 2-1.

The gunners were leading 1-0 at half time.

For the second time in six days, Arsenal capitulated away from home after taking the lead.

In the 5th minute, Alexis Sanchez took the ball with his back 30 yards out from goal, pondered the shot but spotted Theo Walcott behind Nicholas Otamendi, and Walcott had time to control, compose himself before firing past Claudio Bravo into the net.

A wonderfully-timed run from Leroy Sane and latched on to the ball over the top from David Silva to slide past Petr Cech to get Manchester City back into the game with an equalizer in the 47th minute.

Raheem Sterling stepped inside on his left and rifled a low effort beyond Cech to give the hosts the lead in the 71st minute.

Arsenal have now ended their unbeaten runs against Manchester City in their last seven games in all competitions.
