Nigerian Breweries gains again

Transactions at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) Thursday ended with Nigerian Breweries adding to its share price, now for three days running.

This gaining trend comes after announcement of the planned merger of the brewery with Consolidated Breweries Plc.

However, Market Capitalisation, which opened at N12, 891 trillion, closed at N12, 831 trillion, losing N60 billion.

The All-Share Index reduced by 181.50 basis points that is 0.46 percent to close at 38,957.47 against 39, 138.98 achieved on Wednesday.

Forte Oil topped the gainers’ chart adding N5.95 to close at N155.95 per share.

Nigerian Breweries came second with N3.90 to close at N162.50, while Total gained N1.00 to close at N155.00 per share.

Meanwhile, Skyeshelt topped the losers’ chart losing N5.00 to close at N95.00 per share.

It was followed by Seplat which lost N4.99 to close at N635.01, while Mobil lost N4.75 to close at N120.80 per share.

In all, investors traded 291,575,609 shares worth N4, 429,717,409.12 transacted in 5,015 deals against the 414,779,733 shares valued at N4, 463,567,335.51 billion traded in 4,945 deals on Tuesday.

FBN Holdings was the most traded equity trading 54,412,333 shares worth N729, 361,345.22.
