Stock market report: Seplat is Monday’s top loser

Transactions at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) on Monday ended in an upward trend, as the market capitalisation, which opened at N12.699 trillion, closed at N12.701 trillion, adding N2 billion.

Also, the All-Share Index added 6.50 basis points, which is 0.02 per cent, to close at 38,560.69, against 38,554.19 achieved on Friday.

Total topped the gainers’ chart, adding N4.65 to close at N160.00 per share.

7up came second with N3.80 to close at N85.80, while Julius Berger gained N3.41 close at N71.91 per share.

Seplat topped the losers’ chart, losing N32.722 to close at N650.11 per share.

It was followed by Nestle, which lost N12.70, to close at N1,057; while Mobil lost N4.87 to close at N131.00 per share.

In all, investors traded 232,124,063 shares worth N4,030,644,951.31 transacted in 4,767 deals, against the 304.78 million shares valued at N4.64 billion traded in 4,393 deals on Friday.

Access Bank was the most traded equity, trading 23,296,456 shares worth N213,218,317.11.
