The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba state has warned the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC) against orchestrating cheap blackmail, including alleged plans to rig Saturday’s governorship and state assembly elections.
NAN reports that Andeta’rang Irammae, the state publicity secretary of the PDP, spoke to journalists in Jalingo, the state capital, on Tuesday.
The APC had earlier accused the PDP of alleged plans to rig the March 18 polls in the state.
Reacting to the allegation, Irammae advised the opposition party to embark on issue-based campaigns rather than resorting to cheap blackmail.

He said the PDP had ruled the state since 1999, noting that the people of the state had already developed their confidence in the party.
Irammae also accused APC of thuggery and attack on Douglas Yahaya, the PDP’s candidate for Donga state constituency, who was on his way to Bibinu for a campaign.
The PDP spokesperson said the party has already reported the matter to the appropriate authorities, advising the opposition party to adopt decent ways of politicking in its quest to ascend to power in the state.
