Remi Tinubu, senator representing Lagos central, has charged students to strive to be worthy ambassadors.
Represented by a member of the Elegushi royal family at a children’s day book reading organised by Best of Nollywood (BON) ventures, she encouraged them not to emulate corrupt public holders who embezzle public money.
Segun Arinze, Nollywood actor, was among the celebrities who thrilled and inspired pupils of Infantino Montessori, Lekki, Lagos, in honour of the 2019 children’s day celebrations.
The programme presented an opportunity for the lawmakers and movie stars to “stimulate the minds of the kids both intellectually and morally”.

The event featured readings from “A Walk In Her Shoes”, a book co-authored by Yewande and Tomisi Ogunnubi.
She advised the children to be conscious of God, and also learn to pray to him at an early age.
Present at the event were Ibrahim Obanikoro, winner of the house of representatives seat for Eti-Osa federal constituency, encouraged the children to be “high-fliers” in their academic pursuits and chosen future careers.

Arinze taught the children about growth and human changes that should be expected as the years go by and the need to build up a sound value system for success in life.
Gbenga Adeyinka, ace comedian, advised the kids to strongly pursue what they want in life and not expect to get things by a sense of entitlement.
Tana Adelana, Omowunmi Dada and Chy Nwankama took turns to teach the kids, especially the girls, the dignity in self-worth, and how to handle relations with the opposite gender.
They spoke on how to develop lasting friendships and hold conversations in various settings.

There was a question and answer session that saw some of the kids carting away prizes, including mattresses from Mouka Foams, a partner of the event.
