The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has distributed the sum of N100,000 each to Nigerians evacuated from Sudan.
TheCable reported that the first set of Nigerians — mostly students — stranded in war-torn Sudan returned home on Wednesday.
Some of the Nigerians evacuated from Egypt by Air Peace arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja at about 11:30 pm on Wednesday.
The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) plane conveying another set of Nigerians also touched down at the airport in Abuja at about 12 midnight.

The evacuees were screened by officials of the ministry of health upon arrival in the country.
Speaking with journalists after the arrival of the returnees, Maryam Buhari-Shehu, a representative of the foundation, said the organisation has resolved to be fully involved in the evacuation and resettling of the returnees.
Buhari-Shehu said 362 returnees including children were registered by the foundation on the first day of the exercise, adding that 350 persons received the support.

She said the intervention was in collaboration with the federal government through the National Emergency Management Authority (NEMA) and Air Peace to provide succour to the returnees.
The foundation representative added that the ADF would continue to support the government in carrying out humanitarian activities.
Yusuf Bulama, a returnee and beneficiary of the ADF donation, thanked the foundation for the intervention.
“First and foremost, I want to thank Allah for bringing us back home safely. Second, I want to thank Alhaji Aliko Dangote for this huge intervention through the Aliko Dangote Foundation. I pray that Allah continues to help him and support his numerous businesses,” he said.
