A suicide bomber attacked a British embassy vehicle in Kabul on Thursday, killing at least five people, one of whom was a Briton, and wounding more than 30 others.
The British embassy confirmed there were injuries among those in the vehicle, but did not give further information.
Initial reports from the interior ministry said the blast was caused by a suicide bomber on a motorcycle, but later said attacker was travelling by car.
According to Reuters, the Taliban claimed responsibility for the attack, saying it “targeted foreign invading forces”.

Taliban insurgents have been gaining momentum since they were ousted from power by a US-led coalition in 2001.
They have intensified attacks as most foreign combat forces prepare to withdraw from Afghanistan in December.
Eastern Kabul had earlier suffered a major blast on Monday, killing two US soldiers in an attack on Nato forces.
