A suicide bomber struck in Biu, a town in Borno state, on Thursday, killing many people.
Babagana Kyari, a member of civilian JTF, a local vigilante outfit in the troubled parts of the northeast, told AFP that “at least 18 people, including three women, died in the incident, while several others were injured”.
A witness said two men had arrived Tashar Gandu motor park in the town, and one them detonated his explosives among passengers and vendors but security operatives shot dead the second man before he could detonate his own explosives.
Bus stations have been the target of suicide bombers in recent times.
