Four children were killed in a suicide attack on an internally displaced persons (IDP) camp in Konduga, Borno state, on Thursday night.
A senior security personnel who spoke on the condition of anonymity to TheCable said two female Boko Haram insurgents infiltrated the camp and denoted improvised explosive devices (IED).
The attack which was carried out around 11:30pm also injured six persons.
“Most of the victims were children,” the source said.

Satomi Ahmad, chairman of the Borno state emergency management agency (BOSEMA), confirmed the incident.
He said the agency has deployed an emergency response team to the scene of the blast.
“I cannot really give the details of the incident. I’m trying to get across to the camp manager for details,” he said.

The IDPs from Konduga, a town located few kilometres from Maiduguri, had started returning home with the hope of rebuilding their lives.
Millions of people have been displaced by the Boko Haram insurgency since 2009, while about 100,000 have been killed.
