Sunday Igboho: I don’t have interest in Amotekun job

Sunday Adeyemo, a youth leader better known as Sunday Igboho, said he is not interested in being a commandant of the Western Nigerian Security Network code-named Amotekun.

A source had told TheCable that during a meeting of south-west governors in Akure, Ondo state capital, on Monday, Igboho was tipped to head the local security outfit.

But while reacting to the proposal, Igboho said it will be a distraction.

“I am not interested in being the commander of Amotekun. I don’t seek such relevance. What I am saying is that the Fulani herders that are terrorising my people should leave our land,” he said.

“We want peace and that is all. I don’t need any political appointment or money from anybody. We only want peace in our area.”

On the fire incident in one of his houses Ibadan, Igboho said the house was set ablaze by his enemies.

“I don’t suspect anyone. Around 3am on Tuesday, my brothers who live in my second house not far from here rushed down and told me that some hoodlums in a Toyota Sienna bus attacked them,” he said.

“We went there immediately but before we got there, they had gained access and set the house on fire. They also fired several shots into the building.

“We invited fire service that put out the fire. Those who burned the house should have informants who are Yorubas. Why did they not come to the house I leave?”
