Bature Yaro put Nigeria ahead from a tight angle after 24 minutes.
Gbolahan Salami extended the lead from the spot in the 76th minute after his strike partner Ezekiel Bassey was brought down in the box.
The home-based Eagles dominated the game and would have scored even before the opening goal with three missed chances.

It wasn’t entirely a stroll in the park for the Sunday Oliseh-tutored side as the visitors forced Nigeria goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa to make a save in the 32nd minute beating off a shot to safety.
The Les Etalons continued to chase the game but Nigeria held on to the win.
The return leg comes up in Ouagadougou next weekend.
