Nigeria moved up one place from 41st to 40th position in the latest FIFA rankings released on Thursday.
In Africa, Nigeria moved two spots up from 7th to 5th.
Cameroon slipped a spot down from 32nd to 33rd and third behind Egypt and Senegal on the continent.
Algeria slipped 14th places down from 40th to 54th while Zambia slipped seven spots down from 90th to 97th position.

The Bafana Bafana of South Africa, who will face the Eagles in a Group B qualifier for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in June, dropped two places to the 64th spot.
The group’s other teams Libya moved one spot to 91st, while Seychelles dropped nine places to 196th.
