Valentine Ozornwafor, Super Eagles player, lost consciousness twice after an on-field incident during a Belgian Super League match on Saturday.
The game was between Royal Charleroi and Union Saint-Gilloise.
The 22-year-old defender was punched in the face by Dante Vanzier, Saint-Gilloise attacker, while he was trying to stop the Belgian from connecting with a cross in the penalty area.
Vanzier was dismissed after a video assistant referee (VAR) reviewed the incident.

The Nsukka-born player, who received prompt medical attention, was treated for a concussion. He was thereafter stretchered off and taken to the hospital, where he regained consciousness.
In an update posted on Twitter, Charleroi said Ozornwafor is conscious and will remain under observation at the hospital.

“The news about our defender Valentine Ozornwafor is reassuring,” the statement reads.
“After losing consciousness twice in the field, he is now conscious and will remain under observation, according to the concussion protocol.”

Charleroi went on to lose the eventful game 3-0 to Union Saint-Gilloise.
Ozornwafor, on loan from Galatasaray, was featuring in his seventh game of the season for Charleroi before the incident.
