At least one person has been killed with scores injured in violent attacks that took place in Ussa local government area of Taraba state.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) had declared results inconclusive in some polling units in the LGA during the state assembly election.
Confirming the incident, Rikukpi Joshua, vice chairman of the LGA said he was aware that the violence had claimed the life of one person while others had been injured and houses burnt.
Rimam Shawulu, a member of the national assembly representing Ussa, Takum and Donga also confirmed the incident, adding that supporters of the major political parties should desist from fomenting trouble.
The Taraba state government had days ago lifted a ban on a curfew imposed on Jalingo the state capital.
Darius Ishaku, the incumbent governor, was declared winner of the March 9 election.
The supplementary election is taking place in Kwesati, Kpambo Puri, Kpambo and Fikyu– all in Ussa LGA.
