Kano state police command says it has arrested a suspected suicide bomber at the Unguwar Uku motor park, along Zaria Road, in the state.

Magaji Musa Majiya, an assistant superintendent of police and spokesman of the police in the state, told journalists that the middle-aged suspect was apprehended while trying to evade security screening at the entrance of the park.

“A mob descended on him and he sustained injuries,” Majiya said. “When the suspect wanted to run away, the mob pursued him and beat him to a state of coma before the arrival security agents.”

He said when the suspect was searched, no explosives were found on him – although a jacket of charm and muscles of rifle were discovered.
