Suspected criminal on wanted list surrenders to police in Kano

Nasiru Abdullahi, a suspected criminal known as Chile Maidoki, has surrendered to the Kano police command.

According to a statement by Abdullahi Kiyawa, the police spokesperson in Kano, the suspect turned himself in at the Bompai headquarters of the command on Saturday.

Maidoki reported himself to Mohammed Gumel, the state commissioner of police.

The suspect is among the three notorious criminals declared wanted by the police with a bounty of N100,000 each.

Maidoki said he slept “at burial ground yards in Kano city just to evade detection by security personnel”.

He added that his repentance is to “work with the police to promote sustainable peace and development in the state”.

“Chile Maidoki told the police that he used to sleep at burial ground yards in Kano city just to evade detection by security personnel,” the statement reads.

“He is now appealing to the police and the good people of the state to forgive him, that he has repented and is now ready to work with the police to promote sustainable peace and development in the state.

“However, the remaining two, with an N100,000 bounty on each for clues or information leading to their arrests, are still wanted.

“They are Abba Burakita of Dorayi Quarters and Hantar Daba of Kwanar Disu.

“Prospective beneficiaries of these bounties with credible information on their whereabouts are required to contact the nearest police station”.

Kiyawa added that Maidoki’s surrender brings the number of repentant criminals received by the state’s police commissioner of police to 100.
