The Adamawa police command says its operatives in collaboration with hunters have rescued two kidnap victims in Toungo LGA of the state.
Suleiman Nguroje, spokesperson of the command, announced the development on Monday.
Nguroje said a suspected kidnapper was killed in the process of rescuing the victims.
He said the deceased, alongside his gang, had hoped to collect N2 million ransom payment when he was killed, adding that others escaped with bullet wounds.

“One kidnapper was neutralised when he and his gang arrived at a spot to receive N2 million ransom demanded from relatives of the kidnapped victims,” NAN quoted Nguroje as saying.
“The suspected kidnappers sighted our men around the area and engaged them in a gun duel so as to escape arrest.
“One of them was neutralised while others escaped with bullet wounds.”

Nguroje identified the kidnap victims as Suleiman Abdullahi and Ruwa Buba, adding that they were rescued unhurt.
He said Afolabi Babatola, Adamawa commissioner of police, commended the operatives and the hunters for their gallantry.
Babatola directed the joint operations team to track down the fleeing members of the kidnap gang.
The commissioner called on residents of the state to always inform the police about the whereabouts of criminals and those found with bullet wounds.
