Tambuwal: I won’t interfere in assembly matters

Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto state, says his administration did not interfere in the selection of the principal officers of the state house of assembly because it wants a harmonious working relationship with the legislative arm of government.

Speaking on Thursday when he granted audience to members of the assembly led by Salihu Maidaji, the newly-elected speaker, Tambuwal said the state government will encourage and support the new leadership to achieve its set objectives.

He commended the members for the orderly manner in which they have conducted their affairs on the first day of sitting, and admonished the new leaders to work for the unity, stability and progress of the state at all times.

Tambuwal said he would use his experience as a former lawmaker to ensure a smooth working relationship between the executive and other arms of government in the state.
