The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) says explosives have destroyed three of its towers along the Maiduguri – Damaturu transmission line.
In a statement on Friday, Ndidi Mbah, general manager, public affairs at TCN, said the three towers were vandalised with explosives on December 28.
Though Mbah did not mention the perpetrators of the bomb blast, he added that an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) lost his life in the incident.
TheCable understands that the late officer stepped on a landmine at the scene of the incident.
