Chioma Agwuegbo, founder of TechHer NG, says technology is a sustainable means for the promotion and protection of women in the society.
Agwuegbo said this while speaking at the Social Media Week in Lagos. She spoke at the Digital Woman session.
The Digital Woman session was the seventh edition of the larger Social Media Week conference hosted in 12 cities around the world. It had the theme “Stories: With Great Influence Comes Great Responsibility.”
The founder said the TechHer NG community aims to demystify technology for women and teach them how they could use it to solve problems.

“Technology remains the most sustainable gateway for the promotion and protection of women in our society today,” she said.
“We decided to show women, via our experts, the various ways technology can solve problems, to inspire them but also to equip them with the tools to do it themselves.”
Also speaking at the session, Cynthia Mbamalu, member of the strategy team of the Not Too Young To Run movement, said more energy should be channeled to the social media in advocacy for age reduction in categories of political offices in the country.
