Teenager, two security operatives abducted in Kaduna

A police officer and a official of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) have been kidnapped in Kaduna state.

According to a witness, the incident occurred at Mararaban Rido area of Kaduna metropolis around 12am on Thursday.

The gunmen also attacked the resident of Elijah Dreams, chairman of the Kaduna north local government chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN).

Dreams said the two security operatives were abducted alongside two others, including a teenager.

He said his house came under heavy attack as the gunmen attempted to force it open using bullets, but could not.

He lamented the increasing rate of abduction in the area, saying residents live in perpetual fear.

“The kidnappers came around 12 midnight on Thursday and attempted to forcefully enter my house. They rained bullets at the door and hit it several times but God helped us and they could not open the door,” he said.

“They abducted a personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, a police officer, a 14 year old girl and one other person.

“While the incident was going on, I called the commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs and he alerted the police, but before they could come, the hoodlums had finished their operation and left.”

TheCable could not reach Mohammed Jalige, spokesman of the Kaduna police command, for reaction as his phone was switched off.

The incident comes four days after some students of Prince Academy in Chikun local government area of Kaduna state were abducted inside the school premises.
