Terrorists ‘forced to retreat’ as troops destroy hideouts in Sokoto, Zamfara

The troops of Operation Hadarin Daji have destroyed terrorists’ enclaves in Zamfara and Sokoto states.

According to Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, the troops killed terrorist kingpins during operations in Dada, Rukudawa and Dumburum villages in Zurmi LGA of Zamfara on Thursday.

The publication said the other fighters were forced to “retreat and flee” with gunshot wounds.

The troops reportedly recovered two Dane guns, two motorcycles, six different pairs of military camouflage uniforms, communication gadgets, and ammunition.

In Sokoto, the troops were said to have killed four suspected terrorists in Masasa village. 

Several terrorists reportedly escaped with gunshot wounds as troops recovered one AK-47 rifle, two Tecno phones and N282,050 in cash.

The troops also killed three suspected terrorists and rescued six kidnap victims in Bauni village and Bauni forest in Sokoto.
